Brief description:

With its adaptive approach, Netlution is developing a Special Managed Service for one of Europe’s largest retail groups. A team of experts tailored precisely to the task is expanding the existing service to include an 8×5 operating service with a net capacity of 4 FTEs.

Situation:

Netlution supports the customer in the support of its monitoring environment at the retail group with > 400,000 employees. The team processes between 400-500 service requests/events/incidents per month (and the trend is rising). The monitoring landscape contains approx. 250 servers/probes and uses these to monitor the approx. 1.8 million hosts in all of the customer’s lines of business. The portfolio includes, for example:

  • OS monitoring (Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
  • Infrastructure (virtualization environment, network devices, backup infrastructure)
  • Databases (MSSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, ASE, Hana)
  • Application monitoring (Citrix, mail server, Active Directory)
  • SAP system monitoring
  • Store servers (cash register systems, EC-Cash, reverse vending machines, etc.)

Netlution solution:

A customized team consisting of monitoring experts and consultants who are deployed in the managed service in such a way that it can be provided with a net capacity of 4 FTEs.

Project duration:

The managed service including transition started in 2016 and is ongoing.

By automating and developing a self-service portal for the end user, Netlution effectively reduces the administrative workload for the customer.
